Families Helping Families was started in 1985 by brewery employees who wanted to give back to their community. That first year, brewery employees donated enough to provide 3 families with Thanksgiving baskets. Families Helping Families was born.
What We Do
Each year, with the support from employees and families, we have been fortunate enough to increase our numbers and provide Thanksgiving meals throughout Solano County. With the success of our Bud Classic Car Show, we were able to increase our Thanksgiving basket giveaway to 400 families!
We partner with many local agencies such as Mission Solano, Opportunity House, Vaca Fish, CAC, New Focus, Salvation Army, Matt Garcia Foundation and Child Haven. These projects include the Resource Fair and back to school backpack drive in Fairfield, Salvation Army’s Angel Tree at Christmas time, as well as assisting local food banks when their cupboards run dry. We have partnered with local health care agencies with patient issues such as transportation assistance for individuals during cancer treatments.
We have a 100% completely volunteer staff and are proud to say that!! With over 29 years of existence, we have given over $ 500,000 to help our neighbors in Solano County.
